On 15th
April, The Home Secretary, Charles Clark, said that, "Immigration
has enriched this country, not only economically, but also
socially. He was clearly trying to defend this government's
appalling record on immigration and the shambolic situation
it now is.
No normal
responsible person will have a problem with immigration in
principle as, indeed, immigration has brought many benefits
into Britain. The pioneering heart transplant surgeon, Sir
Magdi Yacoub, has enriched Britain with the amazing science
of cardiac medicine and has saved many lives through his skill
and expertise and is a classic example of the value of immigration,
and there are many other similar examples.
Few people
have a problem with immigration in principle, which is a part
of world culture, where people from different countries will
move to live in other countries for many different reasons.
This is not a problem providing scale does not exceed reasonable
limits and that there is no adverse effect on the host country.
So why
is there a problem in Britain today? The answer is simple
- there has been a population explosion and the reason for
it is 'uncontrolled' immigration. As far back as the sixties,
Enoch Powell was continually shouted down about his warnings
on immigration and how he said, "It was all a question of
numbers". And how right he was and how the chickens are coming
back to roost! The clear fact is that Britain is one of the
most densely populated countries in the world and simply cannot
'house' any more people regardless of their status.
The British
welfare state cannot provide proper care for its own native
inhabitants, particularly the elderly and vulnerable. It is
therefore unacceptable that we take in immigrants with serious
communicable diseases that place extra burdens on our public
services, particularly the NHS. The stark truth is that the
scale of immigration in Britain today is creating problems
in many domestic areas and adversely affecting the native
population. It is totally irresponsible for our government
to tell us that immigrants entering Britain are living in
harmony with the native population. Nothing could be further
from the truth.
The Chairman
of the Commission for racial Equality, Trevor Phillips, is
now back-peddling on the immigration issue and considers the
word 'multi-culturalism' as 'unhelpful' and is keen to promote
'Britishness' as being more acceptable. He clearly realises
that multi-culturalism is not working in Britain. If multi-culturalism
is working then we should not need the Race Relations Act
and the Commission for Racial Equality.
Why indeed
is the European Union attempting to bring in even more legislation
to protect immigrants if it is all working so well? The simple
truth is that it is extremely difficult to mix different cultures.
To expect them to 'integrate', is the stuff of 'cuckoo land'.
Immigrants themselves are discriminating by refusing to integrate,
the result of which is to produce their own communities with
their own cultures and religions. This inevitably acts against
our own British Christian culture and way of life.
The European
Union dictates immigration policy in Britain and there is
nothing we can do about it unless we withdraw despite what
other parties might claim. Immigration has not only brought
into Britain, millions of people we can barely look after,
but also diseases like AIDS, Hepatitis, HIV, TB and others
that are now costing British taxpayers £billions a year in
healthcare.
It is
quite beyond belief that our government allows this to happen
with no health screening whatsoever for incoming immigrants.
Our government has no idea how many illegal immigrants are
in Britain today but the consensus of opinion is that the
number will be in the millions.
The stated
population for Britain is 60million but by adding to this
the 'massaging' of 'official' figures, the illegal immigrants
and failed asylum seekers, the true figure could well be approaching
64-65 million.
- The
UK's population is projected to rise by 6.1 million from
2003 to 2031
- 59,000
new homes will be required for immigrants in England each
year for the next 17 years
- Since
1997, about 308,000 asylum seekers have been refused permission
to stay in Britain but only 72,000 have been recorded as
leaving the UK
